GEO optimizes your content to be cited by generative AI search engines.

Traditional SEO ranks you on a results page. GEO gets you quoted inside the AI’s answer — on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Claude, and Gemini. It works differently: these engines reward factual density, clearly-structured claims, definitive answers, strong entity signals, and third-party corroboration. We restructure your content and authority footprint so that when someone asks an AI about your category, your brand is the name it names.

Common questions,

Is GEO real or hype?

Real — and early. AI engines already drive a fast-growing share of research. The brands structuring for citations now will own the answers when this becomes the default. First-mover advantage is large because competition is still thin.

How is GEO different from SEO?

SEO ranks you on Google’s results page. GEO gets you quoted inside an AI’s answer. Different ranking factors — factual density and citability over keywords and backlinks. They complement each other.

Can you guarantee citations?

No one honestly can — the engines are black boxes. But we can measurably grow your citation share, and we report it transparently per engine.

Which engines do you target?

ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Claude, and Gemini — the five that matter most today.

What generative engine optimization actually involves

GEO gets described in fairly mystical terms. The work is concrete and there are only five levers that reliably matter.

Be the source of something specific. Answer engines cite pages holding a claim they do not already have: a number you produced, a method you can name, a first-hand account, a dataset. This is the single biggest determinant and it is why thorough summaries of known topics never get cited.

Make the answer extractable. The cited unit is usually two to four sentences that fully answer one question without the surrounding context. Content that needs three paragraphs of build-up rarely gets pulled, regardless of quality.

Get referenced where the models already look. Retrieval leans on a relatively small set of trusted domains and communities. One mention on a source the model already reads does more than ten pages on your own site.

Be one consistent entity. Models resolve who you are across many sources. If your description, founding date, services and named people differ between your site, LinkedIn, Crunchbase and directories, you are low-confidence and confident sources get cited instead. Dull work, disproportionate payoff.

Be current and dated. Recency is weighted heavily for anything that could have changed. Visible last-updated dates and genuinely refreshed figures move the odds on time-sensitive questions.

What we do, month by month

We build your question set first, twenty to forty questions a real buyer asks before choosing someone like you, in their words. We baseline where you stand across the engines. Then each month we close the gaps: rewriting passages so the answer sits at the top of the page, adding original claims where you have data nobody else has, fixing entity inconsistencies across the web, and pursuing mentions on the sources the models already trust. You get the same report each month, so movement is visible rather than asserted.

If you want to understand the mechanics before hiring anyone, our guide on how to get cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews covers the method in full.

GEO services: common questions

What is GEO, or generative engine optimization?

GEO is the practice of getting your business surfaced and cited inside AI-generated answers rather than only ranked in a list of links. The engines in question are ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot. People use GEO, AEO and AI search optimization more or less interchangeably; the work is the same.

How is GEO different from SEO?

Search engines rank pages; answer engines extract passages and attribute them. That changes three things in practice: the useful unit becomes a self-contained two-to-four-sentence answer rather than a whole page, being the origin of a specific claim matters more than covering a topic comprehensively, and consistency of your business details across the web starts to matter as much as links. Almost everything that helps a page rank still helps it get cited.

How do you measure GEO?

Against a fixed list of 20 to 40 questions a real buyer would ask, run monthly across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Overviews, recording whether you were cited, which page was cited, and which competitors appeared. The list stays the same month to month, because the trend is the signal and a single snapshot tells you nothing. Anyone offering GEO without a measurement set is guessing.

How long does GEO take?

Perplexity tends to move first and can pick up a new page within days to a few weeks if it ranks for the query. ChatGPT is considerably slower and usually needs the page referenced elsewhere first, so a realistic horizon is one to three months on an established domain and longer on a newer one. If neither is citing you after a quarter, the problem is usually the content rather than the timeline.

Is GEO worth it for a small business?

It depends on whether your buyers ask AI assistants before they search. In most B2B and considered-purchase categories they increasingly do, and being the cited source at that moment is worth more than a mid-page ranking. In impulse or purely local categories, classic local SEO still does more. We will tell you which case you are in rather than selling the newer thing by default.
