AEO — Answer Engine Optimization — structures your content to win position-zero featured snippets, “People Also Ask” boxes, and voice-assistant answers across Google, Siri, and Alexa.
When someone asks a question — typed or spoken — search and voice assistants increasingly return a single direct answer instead of ten blue links. AEO is how you become that answer. We identify the high-intent questions in your category, structure content to win the featured snippet and “People Also Ask” boxes, add the schema that assistants read aloud, and format for the concise, factual responses voice search demands. Being the one answer beats being one of ten results.
Content structured in the formats Google pulls for featured snippets — lists, tables, concise definitions.
FAQ markup and question-based content engineered to capture “People Also Ask” real estate.
Conversational, concise answers formatted for how Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant read aloud.
We map the who/what/why/how questions your buyers ask and answer each definitively.
Schema markup — HowTo, FAQ, Q&A — that tells engines exactly what to surface.
Track which snippets and answer boxes you own, and defend them as competitors move.
We map the high-intent questions in your category and which already trigger snippets or PAA.
Rewrite and format target content for snippets, add FAQ/HowTo schema.
Publish question-led content designed to win position-zero and voice answers.
Track owned snippets, expand into adjacent questions, defend against competitors.
We restructured their FAQ and service content for answer engines. They now own position-zero for “emergency dentist near me” style queries and are the spoken answer on Google Assistant.
Win “near me” and “how much / when / where” queries that drive walk-in and call volume.
Own the symptom, procedure, and cost questions patients ask before booking.
Capture “how to / which / best” product questions at the moment of intent.
Win the how-to and comparison snippets your buyers search mid-evaluation.

Answer domination
SEO ranks the page; AEO wins the direct answer box and voice response; GEO gets you cited inside AI chat answers. AEO is the bridge — the structured answers that feed both Google snippets and AI engines.
Yes — the same clear, structured, factual answers that win featured snippets are exactly what AI engines cite. AEO and GEO reinforce each other.
Position-zero often captures the majority of clicks for a query and is the source voice assistants read aloud — outsized value for being first.
Some quick wins land in weeks where you already rank on page one; broader capture builds over 90 days.
Book the audit. We’ll show you which questions in your category are winnable now — and the schema and content to own them.
The conceptual explanation of AEO is everywhere. What is harder to find is what actually changes on the page, so here it is.
The answer moves to the top. Classic SEO writing builds to a conclusion. AEO writing states the answer in the first two to four sentences of a section and then explains it. That single structural change does more than any other single edit, because it creates the passage an answer engine can lift.
Every page needs one thing that is yours. A number you generated, a method you named, a pattern you observed across clients, a test you ran. Without it, the page is a restatement of what the model already knows and there is no reason to attribute anything to you.
Questions get asked in the words the reader uses. Not in your category language. Buyers do not search for “workflow orchestration”; they ask how to stop retyping things between two systems. AEO rewards matching the question as asked.
Dates become load-bearing. For anything that could have changed, an explicit last-updated date and refreshed figures materially improve citation odds. Undated content on a time-sensitive topic gets passed over.
Month one is the question set and the baseline: what your buyers ask, and where you currently stand across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Overviews. From month two it is a repeating loop, rewriting the pages that should be answering those questions, adding original claims where you have data, fixing entity inconsistencies across your web presence, and earning mentions on sources the models already retrieve from.
The report is the same every month so movement is visible. If you want the underlying method before committing, we have written it up in full: what AEO is, and what it changes versus SEO.
AEO is answer engine optimization: the practice of getting your content quoted inside AI-generated answers rather than only listed among links. The answer engines are ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot. GEO and AI search optimization describe the same work; the acronym varies by who is selling it.
SEO optimises to be ranked; AEO optimises to be quoted. In practice that means writing self-contained passages that answer one question completely, being the origin of a specific claim rather than a good summary, and keeping your business details consistent across the web so models treat you as a confident entity. Technical crawlability, topical authority and links still underpin both.
A fixed set of 20 to 40 buyer questions, run monthly across the major assistants, recording whether you were cited, which page was cited, and which competitors appeared. Same questions every month. Without that, AEO reporting is anecdote, and this is the single most common weakness in AEO offers currently being sold.
It does, and it is often underrated there, because people increasingly ask assistants for recommendations in exactly the way they used to search. The requirements are slightly different: consistent name, address and phone details everywhere, genuine reviews, and pages that answer the practical questions a local buyer asks about price, availability and service area.
Not really. Answer engines still rely heavily on retrieval from the open web, so a site that cannot be crawled or has no topical authority has nothing to be cited from. AEO is best understood as an extension of a working SEO foundation rather than a replacement for one, which is why we usually run them together.
